Chapter 20
Shang tsung's POV
Now, I realized Shao Kahn's apocalyptic plan manages to plan a trap to lure those five down on their destination, that nightmare does his evil bidding with Shao Kahn and bagged on Yoshiro. It's just not that he loathed him forever on the concept of his failures, it's just that I give my lord the look of despair. Frankly, the forces of darkness indicates even darker enemies to help us in the fight against earth-realm. From my perspective, the collaboration could result a darkly twisted boss called Dark Kahn. I just battle him from MK vs. DC because he's a nightmare.
If Shao Kahn was to test this in order to make him more powerful,the result could warp his visage into something as ugly as sin.
Nightmare has also been gathering Shao Kahn's troops and making them much more powerful, now their armor a pure black and with edges jagged, nobody could stop this army. But, despite all of this, I still felt bad for Yoshiro. Nightmare has tried to transform him, but with little effort. Instead, he gave my son the armor everybody else wore, as attempting to change him resulted in dire results. Yoshiro snapped and bit wherever he tried to get close. So I just warned him not to get near him. Reptile was also reluctant too.
"Nightmare, we have got ourselves a deal!" Quan chi replied.
"Quan Chi, what are you doing?" I asked him in fear.
"By combining Shao Kahn and nightmare, we create dark Kahn." Quan chi said.
"Dark Kahn!? This is going to end terribly!" I gasped.
"How? It'll make him more powerful, trust me, I know what I'm doing." Quan chi said to me. "Fine, go ahead. But one of these days we will corrupt him like the rest."
"No, I cannot allowed that." I screamed.
I knew this was a terrible mistake from the start of this alliance. The troops needed a powerful leader with a darkly impression and brains of Nightmare and the might of Shao Kahn. I knew this had been a terrible mistake from what quan chi told me, so I sneak into Shao Kahn and nightmare together. Their chemistry worked out perfectly, but it gone terribly as I suspected. I screamed like a sissy when quan chi presented Dark Kahn, the fusion of Shao Kahn and nightmare together. "Behold, Dark Kahn!!!"
"So, what do you think?" Dark Kahn asked me in a bitter smile but my color went away.
"Yeah, you look.....Great. I'm going to get Yoshiro and-" I said as I took steps slowly backwards.
"Oh? Bring him here, I want him to become like me." Dark Kahn said.
I ran, as far as I could. He was not going to let my Son become a monstrosity like Kahn had. Something went wrong with the deadlier alliance; even reptile admits that dark Kahn pushes us away.
"Son, son! Wake up son!" I screamed waking Yoshiro.
Yoshiro opens his brown creepy eyes, yet I grew in fear because the both plan to destroy us all, I don't want my son to become a monstrosity like him.
"What?" Yoshiro asked me.
"Kahn is going to try and corrupt you." I hollered trying to get him to understand.
"But why? Aren't I powerful enough?" Yoshiro queried.
"Apparently not. He wants you to become like the rest of his army." I answered, "just so he can use you."
"if he wants powerful, I'll give him powerful. Make me dark raiden." Yoshiro scoffed.
"Are you sure that'll..." I said but he interrupted my last words. "Come on!"
I lead him to Dark Kahn. I had no choice but to yank Yoshiro with the metal leash he had been given. I brought him to the transformed Kahn, who was leaning on his throne, but he sat up.
"What are you waiting for, transform me." Yoshiro growled.
Dark kahn simply chuckled as a nightmarish aura surrounded my son. Manical laughter echoed as Yoshiro's eyes changed from brown to red, his teeth much sharper and the armor becoming as black as night. The smoke cleared as he reared his head, bone clicked as he moved his neck all the way round. He even turned it at 360 degrees, it made me cringe,having never seen him do this before.
His voice was now distorted, although I could tell he was still my son, regardless of the change. He snapped the chain off. What have I done?
"Well, not bad. Go find Nightmare, and he'll make you a general." Dark Kahn said to my son.
"Oh, I'm not being a general...I'll have his head instead.." Yoshiro growled as he flies away.
Before Dark Kahn could do anything else,he ran off on all fours, leaving us behind in search of the Wraith. He gathered two more troops for himself, Duroc and watchdog. This is wrong, horribly wrong.
Liu kang's POV
We've arrived to the part where our pal Nightwolf is the golden desert, very hot for a desert like Jade's when one of the cyborgs of the Lin kuei, Cyrax, got abandoned until Sonya and the test of the special forces came to the rescue. Nightwolf approaches to us with the five tests.
"Good afternoon to all of you!" Nightwolf exclaimed, "peculiar weather, so Raiden said that you five must handle five different tests. Test of balance, test of slice, test of might, test of sight, and test of strike."
"My favorite part of training." Johnny smiled to himself.
"Listen, Shao Kahn planned to vanquish earthrealm and we must stop him before he causes a nightmare in here." I said to him, "Raiden send us here on our journey after we conquered the acid bath with the twins of toxic."
"That's correct, Johnny!" Nightwolf replied as he turns away from Johnny and into me. "I understand the reason of the corruption, liu Kang, nightmare causes Armageddon just as I feared. Worst of all, Raiden has found out that Shao Kahn has been corrupted too. Not only that, but Yoshiro has been too."
"He will never touch Lana!" Johnny exclaimed holding on to her. "Because she's my idol."
"Trust me, I can hold my own. Don't worry." Lana smiled unwrapping Johnny's arm.
We head through the shaolin temple to make our challenge very useful in a communal living. I find the temple as indifferent as the training arena.
"First up is testing your might, Kai has everything including the pine boards, diamond, and more to come." Nightwolf said as we approach to the boards, "when I hit the gong, you five start your challenge. Ready, set..." He hits the gong.
Johnny hits the diamond in one shot as it shatters into pieces, Sonya hits the marble to break it apart, I hit the Amber, Sarah slices the teak, and lana slices the pine boards. Nightwolf went to look if our challenge completes, and we did. Our next test is sight, so we keep our eyes peal for the object when the cups, heads, or skulls switched. The five of us ponder where the missing object is so I grabbed one of the cups and we complete the second challenge as a team. We individually take the third test and that is balance. Lana was the first one to be on her balance, so she might be careful enough to now fall to the ground. Johnny felt impressed when she did her challenge, so he got up there to do the same along with the rest of us. Balancing was never easy for us Kombatants, but it's worth a try when we balanced with one foot.
The last time I did this challenge was at night at the well, I maintain my balance while things threw directly at me crazily. Unfortunately, I lost control of my balance and therefore I fell to the ground bleeding to death. I can't let that happened to me again. Besides, it's our fight til the end. Raiden put together this team. I went up to the plank keeping my balance going, I hope that the objects won't hit me because they cause me to fall. I did it, I completed the balance challenge without slipping. I return to my team mates from the tower of the temple. The fourth test is slice, so Sarah let us borrow her axe to slice the props given. Johnny was up first so he makes direct contact with the objects leaping, yet it reminds him of fruit ninja, the game he plays on his iPad. We have to be careful not to hit the bombs shown it will deduct points. Moments later, we completed the fourth task. The final test which so happens to be Johnny's favorite, strike.
"Ok, I will not screw up on strike." Sarah said to herself.
"I hope strike will benefits our skills." Johnny replied.
"Let the strike begin." I replied as Kai gave us the bricks, it takes aim to perfect the routine.
We aim directly and the bricks in the middle broke, yet Nightwolf felt impressed that we've come a long way towards this day. He sounded the gong for finish. As we thank him for tests he gave us, we bid him farewell as we continue our road into ending Dark kahn's plans.
